Project Highlight: Leading Design for HPE Gen 10 Servers and Securing Design Patents
As the Senior Designer for HPE Gen 10 servers, I had the privilege of spearheading the design and direction of an extensive array of products that formed the backbone of Hewlett Packard Enterprise's (HPE) technology ecosystem. Gen 10 servers represented a monumental endeavor, encompassing hundreds of products spanning multiple categories, including rack-mount servers, tower servers, and accessories – essentially touching every facet of HPE's product lineup.
Leading the industrial design team at HPE, I navigated the complexities of crafting a design language that could seamlessly encapsulate the essence of quality and robustness inherent in HPE products. The challenge was formidable; with such a diverse range of products, maintaining a cohesive and distinctive design language that resonated with HPE's brand values was no small feat.
Over the course of several years of development, I orchestrated the design strategy for Gen 10 servers, ensuring that each individual product contributed harmoniously to the larger HPE ecosystem. My role extended beyond aesthetics – I balanced user-centered design with functional requirements, pushing the boundaries of innovation while preserving HPE's reputation for reliability.
In addition to these achievements, I'm proud to note that nearly 100 design patents were secured as a result of our collective efforts. This remarkable accomplishment stands as a testament to the innovation and unique design concepts embedded within Gen 10 servers, underlining their distinction in a competitive landscape.
Through my leadership as the lead Industrial Designer, I not only contributed to the success of Gen 10 servers but also upheld HPE's position as a technological frontrunner. My tenure at HPE showcased my ability to navigate intricate design challenges while maintaining a unified brand identity, a testament to my dedication to design excellence.

Project Highlight: HPE's 3D Logo Design
During my time at HPE, I was a critical member of a talented team responsible for creating a cutting-edge 3D logo that could effectively represent the brand across various physical products. Collaborating closely with my colleagues, we embarked on the challenge of designing a logo that not only exuded beauty and elegance but also showcased the high-tech essence of HPE's products in a three-dimensional space.
As a key contributor to the design process, I brought my expertise in design thinking and user experience to ensure that the 3D logo was not only visually stunning but also aligned with the brand's identity and resonated with the target audience. Through meticulous attention to detail and a focus on innovation, our team crafted a stunning 3D logo that captured the spirit of HPE's cutting-edge technology and showcased its forward-thinking approach.
The success of our 3D logo design was well-received within the organization. The brand team recognized the brilliance of our work and incorporated our 3D designs into their overall brand strategy. Being part of a team that had a direct impact on the brand's visual identity through a three-dimensional perspective was an exciting and rewarding experience.
I played an integral role in the creative process, contributing my unique insights and skills to help shape the final 3D logo. This experience at HPE highlighted my ability to collaborate effectively, contribute meaningfully to projects, and deliver exceptional design solutions that leave a lasting impact on brands and their audiences, particularly in the realm of three-dimensional design.

3D Industrial Design at HP/HPE
My responsibilities at HP/HPE included the product design and user experience for global server, storage and networking product lines. Products lines include tower servers, blade servers, rack mount servers, rack cabinets, power products & more. I have 16+ years of experience designing for a global portfolio of products. I have experience developing and maintaining a Design language & Branding strategy for a large family of products (50+ products) in a global billion-dollar market. Here is a small sample of my designs form my time at HP/HPE.
Usability Testing at HP/HPE
We conducted usability studies on the products at HP/HPE to ensure that they are easy to use and provide a good user experience. This can involve testing the hardware and software of a product with a group of users to gather feedback and identify any potential usability issues. This feedback is then used to improve the product before it is released to the public. I was involved on over 200 usability studies during my 16 years at HP/HPE.
Project management at HP/HPE
At HP/HPE, I was responsible for the management of many of my products or projects. This involved coordinating with a team of designers, human factors, marketing, engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget, while also meeting the project's design goals. I managed multiple products and people effectively, and have strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
One of the key responsibilities of a design project manager is to create a project plan that outlines the timeline, budget, and scope of the project. This plan should include detailed information about each stage of the design process, including the tasks that need to be completed, the resources required, and the deadlines for each stage.
In addition to creating a project plan, a design project manager also needs to manage the team of designers working on the project. This involves assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that everyone is working together effectively to achieve the project's goals. The design project manager is also responsible for communicating with stakeholders, and senior managers, to keep them informed of the project's progress and to address any concerns or issues that may arise.
